Travel and food go hand in hand and over the years I’ve racked up some memorable travel dining experiences, based on the quality of the food, service and location of course! So, without further ado, let me share with you my most memorable travel dining experiences…
1. Most Memorable Breakfast
(Nomo Kitchen, NYC)
The first meal of the day and some would argue the most important was for me in NYC was at Nomo Kitchen at the uber stylish Nomo Hotel in Soho. Now, you know a lot of places do poached eggs and avocado but no one does it like Nomo Kitchen. A perfect slice of toasted sourdough topped with well-seasoned avocado and a couple of poached eggs cooked to absolute perfection! Oh and it’s a pretty fancy shmancy place and a photographers dream or a hot insta-spot!

2. Most Memorable Brunch
(HOTEL CHANTELLE, NYC)
OK, I’m afraid, when it comes to Brunch, NYC wins hands down. So many options on offer in such stunning locations but a Saturday brunch at the Hotel Chantelle’s rooftop with fine cocktails and a jazz band is something quite special. The menu and décor are seriously swoon-worthy and service is exceptional. Take a pew, sip on those Mimosas with double bass in the background and who can’t resist fried burrata!

All the deets in the post above!
3. Most Memorable Lunch
(City wall Picnic, Lucca)
My beloved Tuscany will never be left off the list and I have experienced many a fine meal there however none more so than a simple picnic I had in Lucca sitting beside the medieval city wall, It was a complete impromptu idea, we went to a local deli and stocked up on local bread, cheese, other savouries’ and a few pastries. We sat on tree trunk bases, watched the locals on their Sunday afternoon promenade and got lost in the romance of it all.

Lots more on Lucca below
4. Most Memorable Dinner
(NOA Chefs Hall, Tallinn)
A city I’ve craved to visit for years and finally last year I had the chance to experience Tallinn. I had planned to have dinner at Noa Restorans on a stunning coastal location a little out of the old town.
If the Michelin Star existed in Estonia, it has been hailed as the 3 star equivalent and little did I know before arriving that Chef invited Dr C and I to enjoy the evening at his table.
Seriously one of the most creative theatrical use of ingredients I’ve ever experienced but also a complete vegetarian taster menu tailored to my suiting right before me!

An evening at Noa below!
5. Most Memorable Afternoon Tea
(Raffles, Singapore)
The great British constitution of afternoon tea can simply not be overlooked at the colonial Raffles hotel in Singapore. The beautiful Grand Lobby is the perfect location with its grand Victorian pillars to host some exquisite scones, sandwiches and a fine tea collection. Oh, and bone china enthusiast, eat your heart out!

6. Most Memorable Snack
(The Valley of the Incas, Peru)
Can I just add from the outset, I did not take part in the consumption of the following (I’m veggie) but thought it may be something that is unfamiliar especially if you’ve not been to Peru!
In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, grilled guinea pig or (Cuy as it’s called in Spanish) is a delicacy! They even have the Peruvian version of ‘The Last Supper’ hanging in Cusco Cathedral where the meat is replaced with roasted guinea pig!
Those cute fluffy pets will never look the same to me again. Do you see why this made it onto the memorable dining experience list?!

If you fancy a peruse at the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Oh wow, I’d love to have afternoon tea at Raffles! <3 They're credited with creating the Singapore Sling cocktail – I'd love to try their version! Maybe as part of a boozy afternoon tea, hehe 🙂
