Meet the founder
I’m Be, the travel adoring, eco-conscious and coffee-loving face behind Be-lavie.
Be-lavie, is an award winning online travel journal with a focus on sustainability. I am an ex-scientist turned travel writer and digital content creator who has travelled all over the globe spanning 6 continents, over the past 18 years. I have racked up visits to 70 plus countries including an around the world trip, making me quite the expert in crafting intricate itineraries. I love to discover some of the world’s more remote destinations and stay in some incredible hidden location eco-hotels. My aim is to transport you, my audience to inspirational and cultural global spots that are less visited and allow you to see the ‘real’ and authentic side of destinations through detailed guides with a sprinkling of luxury. The spotlight is on eco-friendly responsible experiential travel with lifelong memories.
THE ‘BE’ BEHIND BE-LAVIE
I live in Leicester, a city in the middle of England (famously known as the city where they found the king in the car park – Richard III), with my equally geeky and travel partner in crime husband. I’d call myself an experiential boutique traveller with a big focus on sustainability and sourcing ethically and responsibly.
To date I have travelled to over 70 countries, over 6 continents and yes Antarctica is on that list to make it 7 one day in the future!
As well as global jaunts and travelling in the UK, I am keen to support local businesses and ventures in my home city. I endeavor to showcase as much of Leicester as possible including local guides on history, hidden gems, foodie spots, street art, coffee stops and upcoming events.
In addition to travelling, I am a huge veggie fine dining fan, which I incorporate into my travels. My passion subject is talking eco-conscious travel, More often than not, you’ll find me hanging out in coffee shops, sipping on Espresso Martini’s, scoping out street art on my daily walks or perfecting my origami skills!
Be-lavie is an award winning blog that has a huge focus on travelling and hotels but also foodie inspiration. You can always trust that my opinions are honest and brands are only endorsed if I think they will align with my niceh values and you, my audience.
I am delighted you’re here, so sit back, relax and allow me to show you life through my lens, filled with responsible travel inspiration with a generous sprinkling of luxury.
MORE ABOUT BE-LAVIE
Why the unusual name choice? Well, simply because friends call me ‘Be’ and because French is the most romantic language in the world. The blog encompasses Be’s life so the English alternative was ‘The life of Be’ but it sounds so much better in French, right?
Be-LAVIE / Proun (bee la vie).
Trans (French) ‘The Life of be’
If you fancy getting to know Be a bit better, read on, otherwise feel free to explore the pages of this online journal which started out as a passion project blog. Since then I’ve cleaned things up and hopefully streamlined things for a better user experience.
