Knight & Garter
Part of the Beautiful Pubs Collective, this gastro concentrates on fancy yet good quality sourced produce cooked and served beautifully. Their restaurant behind the aesthetic bookcase is well hidden to reveal a sophisticated and stylish restaurant setting, with a relaxed feel. Breakfast is served during the weekends only and is a lovely leisurely affair with a wonderful menu that includes cocktails, bottomless, should you desire, pancake stacks, full English, healthy granola or even oysters for those fancy weekends.

&Kith
‘Kith’ meaning friends, is a beautiful almost French patisserie inspired coffee house and dining destination with a dry bar. The aesthetics are very instagram worthy with their eclectic food offerings. Breakfast at &Kith are served all day until 17:30 and they offer six different options from a full English, full Indian or steak and eggs. Their vegetarian and vegan options are great too.

Kai
Located in St. Martins Square, this all day breakfast spot had such large queues that they’ve recently had to extend their seating space into the store next door, testament to how good this place is. With it’s simple styling and delicious menu of hot and cold beverages, breakfast cocktails plus the most drool worthy pancake stacks and all day brunch items, Kai delivers every photo worthy, delicious breakfast food every time. Kai actually have one of the best rating levels as being the best breakfast/brunch spot in Leicester City Centre!

Be-lavie Recommendations: The Vegan Benedict with plants sausages, Red Leicester cheese and onion pancake stack or French toast. The smashed avocado with scrambled sriracha tofu on sourdough toast (vegan) is incredible as is the Breakfast Stack from the specials menu as well as the Shakshuka. Wash down with a Baileys Hot Choc (or have it for desert), turmeric or matcha lattes.
Audrey
Audrey coffee shop by day does some wonderful breakfast options from Wednesday through to Sunday. Fridays and Saturdays are for their most popular set bottomless brunches which are extremely popular.
This pretty pink eatery does great cocktails, a fantastic range of hot and cold drinks as well as fancy coffees and hot chocs. But when it comes to regular breakfast items, our eyes and money is on the deluxe hot chocolates, truffle and cheese sandwich, giant croissant filled with ice cream and marshmallows and the famous loaded hash browns. Hash browns come in a range of eight topping options including, Korean, cheeky cheese, truffle and mushroom and vegan. You’ll be spoilt for choice.

La Forêt Café
Serving up a fusion of North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as European favourites with a twist, La Forêt Café has been one of our long time favourite breakfast places in Leicester City Centre. It’s also the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or an anytime treat! We particularly love the variety and quality of fresh ingredients and passionately prepared food. Service is always second to none and the chefs passion for cooking is infectious.
The cafe has some pretty, North Africa decor in the form of hanging Tunisian pots and green foliage and mirrors adorning the walls. It’s quite eclectic but service is always with a smile.
La Forêt Café serves a wonderful range of breakfast items, salads, superfood smoothies, homemade cakes and pastries as well as traditionally Tuisian sweets. When it comes to drinks, they do a sweet lovers dream in the form of a Red Velvet Latte and a Luna Latte. All food is aesthetically pleasing, healthy and garnished beautifully.

Be-lavie Recommendations: Superfood smoothies; Detox green and Revitalising Super Seed; Traditional Moroccan Tea Pot, with mint served in traditional glass cups; Chefs Special Tunisian Shakshuka with bread, the non veggie version comes with Merguez; La Forêt Veggie Full English, Vegan option available, Homemade Hummus with Pitta Bread. For a sweet fix, try the homemade sweet pastries such as the pistacchio cornet and walnut chakla.
Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms
A Leicester City Centre constitution, Mrs Bridges located in the lanes, in the heart of medieval Leicester, are these cute tearooms. Nostalgic of a bygone era and serving the most delicious breakfasts, home-made traditional cakes and pastries and a few varieties of afternoon teas and cream teas. They have an outdoor terrace to the back but the inside is super cosy. Get yourself a pot of tea, a cosy seat upstairs and reminisce of being back at grannies. They have a few breakfast options but we love their vegetarian full English, Hunter breakfast or French toast.

Bryter Moon Deli
Situated in Leicester’s once booming Silver Arcade, Bryter Moon Deli gives us a reason to go back and reminisce about this renovated space. Doubling up as a deli, at Bryter Moon, you’ll find lots of local goodies to take away such as packages of teas, coffees, preserves, beers, cordials, biscuits and many more.
The food at the deli has a very home made vibe about it and love they serve their sandwiches alongside crisps and a mini salad. The decor is quirky and shabby chic with card games on each table as well as board games.
Breakfast and brunch items include sandwiches, breakfast muffins, porridge, smashed avocado on toast, croissants, bacon butties. There’s definitely lots to choose from here as well as having great vegetarian and vegan choices. Coffees are beautifully made with an array of non dairy milks.

Orso
A stones throw from Leicester Market, Orso is inspired by the coffee culture in Bali and Australia. The vibe is relaxed with a number of freshly ground coffees, loose teas, fancy coffee with syrup and a great range of non dairy milks.
Breakfast offerings include, smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs, granola with fruit, banana bread, toasts topped with a number of delicious ingredients and lots more. They also do some great juices if you like something a little more healthier.

James Cafe Bistro
A great place to hang out at any time of the day, close to Leicester’s Highcross Shopping Centre, James Cafe Bistro makes comforting delicious classic food served throughout the day. Pop in for a hot or cold drink, ice creams milkshakes, sandwich, evening pasta or breakfast/brunch, served from 10:00-15:00 daily.
We’ve tried their full English breakfasts, pancakes, eggs benedict and omelettes and can thoroughly recommend these,

Tegtat
This authentic Turkish Bakery, where delicious cakes, pastries, sweet and savoury items on the menu are all made freshly on a daily basis. They have a huge selection of Turkish popular food such as pide, baklava, Borek and Simit breads as well as English pastry and breakfast favourites. Tegtat serves breakfast daily and all day so you can pop in at anytime not just at the traditional breakfast time!

Be-lavie Recommendations: Sultan Royal Breakfast with Turkish Tea, great board to share for two, comes with sesame bread, Pide (Turkish Pizza) with cheese & tomato with a lovely spicy dip sauce, Feta & spinach omelette bagel with hash brown, perfect for breakfast. Sweets we recommend, Mixed plate of freshly made crispy baklava (six pieces including a coconut filling), The Kunefe we shared had just been made and was absolutely melt in the mouth with a light flaky crispy texture and the Caramel Trilece this cake soaked in caramel is perfect for those with a sweet tooth! To drink try the, Classic Turkish Tea, Freshly squeezed orange juice or passionfruit juice.
Kings Coffee House
Situated on Upper King Street and part of the HTL (Holy Trinity Leicester) Church, this is no ordinary coffee house. As well as making great coffee (coffee is sourced locally from St Martin’s Coffee House in Leicester), the cafe as a ’Food For Change, project thats been running since November 2023 with the cafe intercepting surplus food that usually ends up in landfill, and transforming it into tasty meals every Friday & Saturday for breakfast and lunch.
There is also a community kitchen, where donated food is free for all to access. To learn more about donation, click on their website below. The cafe itself is really peaceful and a regular menu also operates daily, which includes, breakfast, lunches and delicious sweet treats in the form cakes.
